Office Manager, Bookkeeper, Human Resources

I interact with our patients to ensure that each of their visits is a pleasant one. I look forward to seeing the established patients and hearing about their families as much as I enjoy getting to know new patients and their loved ones. Here in the practice, I oversee and encourage our staff in the back office, making certain that everyone is ready for the day and smiling. I handle our personnel, including hiring and training. I also take care of the bookkeeping, keep an eye on our supplies, and strive to keep everyone and everything on track for the benefit of our patients. Since I am lucky enough to be married to Dr. Buettner, I also get to work with my best friend and partner all day. When I’m not in the office, I am usually with family and friends. I also enjoy shopping and reading, as well as serving on the governing board for the Porterville Unified School District.

Patient Coordinator

I love that my job lets me interact with so many wonderful people, every day! Here at Fred H. Buettner, DDS, my work involves scheduling and confirming appointments, answering phones, and assisting patients with their questions about our practice. I like getting to know our patients and hearing about their lives when they call or come in. Of course, because I grew up in the area, I know lots of our patients from my life outside of the office, too. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and losing myself in a good book.

Financial Coordinator

Everyone in our dental practice, including Dr. Buettner and my coworkers, are such positive people! I love coming to work each morning, because I know we’re going to have a day that involves helping people. My role here involves working with our patients to develop payment plans for their treatment and assist with resolving any issues they might have. I also manage the schedule and take care of the insurance billing processes. Because I have three children of my own, I really like getting to meet our younger patients and working with their families. I have been married to my husband, Ramiro, for more than ten years. Our children’s names are Jonathan, Michael, and Ariana, and I love spending my free time with them. Our family is always visiting with each other and our friends.

Registered Dental Hygienist

It is really fulfilling to help a patient with severe oral health problems restore their great oral health through dental care. Working with our patients, talking with them about their lives, and forming partnerships to create healthy and beautiful smiles, really makes my work rewarding. When I’m not caring for patients, I am at home with my husband Henry, with whom I have two children, Ry and Heidi. I also have a grandson, Hank, who is adorable! I like swimming and reading, but am always happiest when I’m with my loved ones.

Helping our patients make positive changes is what we’re all about, and I am honored to have that opportunity. When I’m working with a patient and I see them start to become interested in, and then passionate about, their oral health, I get excited because I know they’re on the right path. My role here involves taking X-rays, performing regular and deep cleanings, providing oral hygiene instruction, and doing periodontal charting. This is a great office in which to work and I respect how Dr. Buettner takes the time to explain treatments to our patients before and during the process, so that the patient always knows what the process is. When I’m not at work, I am usually spending time with my husband, who was my high school sweetheart, and our two daughters. My whole family is active in the Porterville Church of the Nazarene. I also enjoy quilting and reading.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Getting to know our patients, and watching the children grow up, makes my work enjoyable. Each day I get to help people develop great oral health habits, by teaching them how to care for their teeth and gums between checkups. I also perform dental cleanings and deep cleanings, and take X-rays. Working here is great. I love my coworkers and the friendships that we have developed. I love our wonderful patients, too. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband as well as our extended family. Occasionally, I also run a half marathon.

Registered Dental Assistant

The most rewarding aspect of my work is helping people overcome their fears about seeing the dentist. Not only do they stop worrying, many actually look forward to coming in for their checkups! I also love that I get to see our young patients grow up and then bring in their children for treatment that features our painless, gentle dental services. My work involves assisting Dr. Buettner during patient treatments, instructing patients on post-op care, and working with children so they learn how to properly care for their teeth. In my personal life, I have been married to the love of my life, Charles, for more than 42 years. We have three children, eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Registered Dental Assistant

When a timid or reticent patient comes in, I make a special effort to ease their concerns. I reach out and talk with them about their fears, reassure them, and stay by their side throughout the exam or treatment. This allows me to develop a special connection with our patients. I am really proud of those who still manage to come in for checkups and cleanings despite struggling with anxiety or fear. Working with Dr. Buettner and everyone here at the practice is very rewarding. I see how passionate everyone is and how much they care about our patients. We support each other and grow as a team. At home, I live with my daughter Julianne. We spend most of our free time together — laughing, sharing stories, and having adventures.
